LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — The newest store at Fayette Mall is giving shoppers the opportunity to help others while they shop for themselves.

Whether you're a fan of the show "The Office" or of Marvel comics, the store Box Lunch has your fandom covered. Their shelves are stacked with novelties, clothes, backpacks, and more.

"If you are a pop culture fan there are probably a million things you will love in this store," said Sarah Robinson with Fayette Mall.

Robinson says that Box Lunch is a pop culture gift store with a cause because they give back for every purchase made. The nationwide chain's only store in Lexington continues its trend of fighting hunger.

"So for every $10 spent in store, they donate a meal to Feeding America and a percentage of all the sales goes to our local God's Pantry food bank as well," said Robinson.

According to God's Pantry food bank, one in six Kentuckians are at risk of hunger. One in five kids in Kentucky do not know where their next meal will come from.

"Box Lunch has really made a point of being able to expose the need for hunger relief," she said.

With over 40 million meals already donated over the years, Box Lunch aims to further their mission with their new Lexington store, offering their shoppers a chance to give back to others when they get something for themselves.

"People like to be conscious, and give back, and have a cause when they're shopping and Box Lunch definitely does that," said Robinson.
