LEXINGTON (LEX 18) — Lexington police arrested a man who they say lead officers on a dangerous chase.

Police arrested Javen Rigby just before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Officials said earlier that night police approached a parked car in the Cardinal Valley neighborhood on the city's northwest side.

Police said the car sped off, nearly striking a woman and her dog.

Authorities tell LEX 18 that at some point Rigby fled the vehicle on foot, leading police on a chase through rough terrain.

Police said the car later was found to have been stolen.

Rigby faces multiple charges, including wanton endangerment, theft and evading police.
