Man arrested after shooting incident in Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Police have arrested a man who was involved with a shooting incident on Thursday.

Police responded to a shooting incident that happened at the intersection of US 150 and KY 555 on Thursday.

When they arrived, they found that Andre Hawkins, 32, of Lebanon had been shot while in his vehicle at the intersection.

Hawkins left the scene and went to a nearby McDonalds to use his cell phone.

Hawkins told police that Dyron Johnson of Springfield had shot him.

Washington County EMS transported Hawkins to SpringView Hospital in Lebanon where he was then airlifted to the University of Louisville Hospital.

Hawkins is stable, according to police. Police have executed a search warrant in Lebanon on West Chandler Street.

Johnson, 38, was arrested and charged with assault in the first degree and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Johnson was lodged in the Marion County Detention Center.
