LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Lexington Police say that a man has been charged in connection with a shooting that happened near Two Keys Tavern in June.
Police say that they responded to a report of a shooting near the bar on South Limestone around 1:30 a.m. June 23. Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. They say their preliminary investigation revealed that a verbal disorder escalated and the victim was shot in the lower torso near the intersection of Pine Street and Jersey Street.
Jayontai McCann, 21, was charged with Assault 1st, Possession of a Handgun by Convicted Felon, and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
He was put in the Fayette County Detention Center.
