KNOX COUNTY, Ky (WRIL) — WRIL is reporting that a man died Thursday after being hit by a vehicle.
They report that the Knox County Sheriff's Department says Charles Mcvey was driving a truck on Highway 1304, when he travelled over a hill. They say that 52-year-old Mearldene Abner, of Girdler, was walking up the hill in the middle of the road. Mcvey was unable to avoid hitting Abner, according to the sheriff's office.
Abner died at the scene.
The sheriff's office reports that Mcvey did not appear to be impaired, but per protocol, a blood test was performed.
The investigation continues.
