LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Lexington man woke up to fireworks being set off on his porch Friday morning.

It happened around 5 a.m. on East High Street and now he wants to know who did it. The bizarre event was caught on camera.

"It looked like he was talking to a friend, like, 'hold up, wait, you have to see this,' or whatever, and then he just lit it and ran off," said Marcus, who lives in the house.

When he heard the banging noises outside, it caused confusion and panic for Marcus.

"On the wood porch next to the wood building. Wood burns. Just a really stupid decision," he said.

After the fireworks stopped, safety was on Marcus' mind. He says that another family lives in the house upstairs and there's an Air Bnb close by. Nothing caught on fire, but the careless act could have caused harm or damage.

"I just feel like there is unnecessary hate and risky mischief. I don't know why people feel compelled to do that stuff," he said.

Marcus filed a police report and hopes whoever did this is caught.
