LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — On Monday Mayor Linda Gorton will join Fayette County Public School representatives to celebrate the official opening of Brenda Cowan Elementary.
The ribbon cutting starts at 10 a.m. The school is located on Athens-Boonesboro road between Jacobson Park and Interstate Highway 75.
On Friday the teachers had an opportunity to move in to their classrooms.
The first day of school will be on Wednesday.
