JOHANNESBURG (AP) — Pubs, hair salons and movie theaters have reopened across England in the biggest relaxing yet of Britain's virus-prevention measures. But South Africa and other parts of the world remained far from a state of post-outbreak normal as they reported another day of record coronavirus cases. The World Health Organization says member nations reported more than 212,000 new confirmed cases to the global body on Saturday, the highest single-day increase since the start of the pandemic. The U.N. health agency said the highest numbers of new infections were reported from the Americas region, which includes the United States and Brazil. Johns Hopkins University data showed more than 11.1 million people around the world have been confirmed infected since the pandemic began.
