ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Mount Vernon Fire Department rescued a coon dog that fell into a sink hole Sunday morning.

The department posted on their Facebook page that it happened off Sand Springs Road, and the dog fell about 100 feet.

The Brodhead Fire Department was also called in to help.

Rescue crews worked together using a tripod and rope rescue system to save the dog named Annie.

The pup is said to be doing well. Rescuers say she was happy to be reunited with her owner.
