A quick shot of Arctic air brings us a taste of January today. We are waking up to the coldest temperatures of the season and wind chills are in the upper teens. Even with a good deal of sunshine we'll only climb into the upper 30s and lower 40s this afternoon.
Temperatures will make a nice recovery over the weekend. Still a little chilly tomorrow with highs in the upper 40s. By Sunday we're back near 60°. Enjoy it! Another Arctic blast is looming next week. Rain showers late Monday will change over to snow as a strong cold front marches through the region. There is the potential that some areas see the first accumulating snowfall of the season. The jet stream will buckle and Arctic air will plunge southward. We are expecting a few days of near-record cold with lows in the teens and lower 20s, and highs barely above freezing through the middle of next week.
