HAZARD, Ky. (LEX 18) — Anthony Lewis has been found and arrested in connection to the murder of Marlena Holland, according to Hazard police.
Police caught Lewis around 9 a.m. on Monday and he is currently at the police station being interviewed and processed.
Police said that Lewis was found at the Big Creek community in Perry County. Police had numerous tips that Lewis was around the Old Big Creek School and found him walking on the side of the road.
Police said that Lewis did not resist and there were no issues or injuries during the arrest.
Officers responded to Bobby Davis Museum and Park and found a female deceased on Sunday morning. The Perry County Coroner has identified Marlena Holland, 37, as the victim.
Police have confirmed that it appears as if Holland was beaten to death.
Police said, based on the people they interviewed, the victim and suspect knew each other.
Lewis has been staying at the Hope House on North Main Street, where Holland also stayed, according to police.
