WOODFORD COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Nearly 250 animals are settling into their new homes thanks to an adoption drive held by the Woodford Humane Society.

Quantrell Subaru sponsored the event, covering the adoption fees for every single animal for the last 15 days.

By the end of the last day, the humane society only had 9 dogs and 22 cats left.

"Honestly, this has been our biggest year. Our record up until now was 171 so we surpassed that within the first week this year. It's been fantastic and we are just super excited to end on a really high note," said Woodford Humane Society Executive Director Katie Hoffman.

The adoption fees go back to normal on Monday. They range from $20 to $120, which is typically the fee for puppies.
