100 year old house burns in Powell County

POWELL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A 100-year-old house burned down last night, according to the Clay City Fire Department's Facebook page.

The house was used as Powell County's first funeral home in the early 1900's.

Clay City Fire Department, Stanton Fire Department, Middlefork Volunteer Fire Department, Hargett Fire Department, Estill County Fire Department and Powell County Emergency Medical Services responded to the fire, which occurred around 10 p.m. on Saturday night.

The fire was put out, but the house is a complete loss.
