LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Tempur Sealy donated 40 mattresses to the clients of the Hope Center Emergency Shelter who are currently staying at Transylvania University's Beck Center, as well as 100 mattresses to the Ball-Quantrell Jones Recovery Center for Women.

“Two of Tempur Sealy’s core values are ‘We care about each other,’ and “We do the right thing,’” senior manager of public relations at Tempur Sealy Rick Maynard explained. We appreciate the opportunity to support the fine work the Hope Center is doing in our hometown of Lexington during this unprecedented and challenging time."

Before the clients of the Hope Center Emergency Shelter received the donation, they had been sleeping on much older mats.

"We would like to thank Tempur Sealy for supporting the care and comfort of our men staying at the Transylvania University Beck Center by graciously donating 40 new mattresses,” Janice James, Hope Center Interim Executive Director said. “Our clients were ecstatic. And the women in the recovery program are equally excited about this donation. We thank Tempur Sealy for this amazing gift and for being a caring community partner during this challenging time.”

The Hope Center is still in need of the following items:

· Washable laundry bags
· Toiletries such as razors and shaving cream, shampoo and deodorant
· Swipe thermometers
· Hand sanitizer
· Cleaning supplies to help with the increased cleaning, which occurs at least four times per day
· Over-the-counter medicine such as Tylenol and alcohol-free cough syrup
· Bottled water
· Snacks

If you would like to donate, you may put items in a box or bag and deliver it to the Privett Men's Recovery Center located at 250 West Loudon Ave. between the time of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Once you arrive, please call 859-225-4673. A staff member will come and take the donation from your car so you do not need to enter the building.
