MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Two people from McCracken County failed to show up to court again to answer to animal abuse charges.

Jennifer and Harold Campbell, a father and daughter, have been accused of abusing 51 chihuahuas.

The dogs were found living in a home in "deplorable conditions" in October.

The Campbells had a court date on Tuesday, but they did not show up for the second time.

They have been faced with more than 50 counts of second-degree animal abuse.

The judge has issued a bench warrant for them.

Failure to appear in court is a misdemeanor and could mean an additional six months of jail time if convicted.
