WASHINGTON, D.C. (FDA)— Stella Artois has announced that they will voluntarily issue a partial recall of select packages containing 11.2-ounce bottles of beer that may contain particles of glass.

The recall applies to six-packs, 12-packs, 18-packs, 24-packs of Stella Artois, “Best of Belgium” multi-packs in the U.S. and Canada and Stella Artois Légère six-packs and 12-packs in the U.S.

The recall does not affect other Stella Artois packaging formats like cans or draft or bottles of any other production codes.

It comes after a glass packaging flaw was detected in some 11.2-ounce bottles that could cause a piece of glass to break off and possibly fall into the beer. In a statement, the company said the potentially-affected bottles were manufactured by a third-party, one of many that supplies Stella Artois with glass bottles.

The company also said that the recall would impact less than 1 percent of all Stella Artois glass bottles sold in North America annually.
