LAUREL COUNTY, Ky (LEX 18) The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a man was arrested Tuesday and charged with cruelty to animals 2nd degree.

A deputy responded to the animal cruelty complaint around 1:30 p.m. A caller had said that a dog was tied to a camper trailer on Keavy Road and was not being fed. The deputy located two dogs tied outside of a camper trailer. He said that the dogs appeared to be malnourished and in poor health.

The accused man did not have any dog food and the deputy was not able to locate any dishes or other evidence that would indicate that the dogs had been recently fed or watered.

32-year-old Jesse Jones was arrested and charged with Cruelty to Animals 2nd Degree. He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

The dogs were taken by animal control.

He declined an interview with LEX 18.
