LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – Across Kentucky, traces of last night’s storms could be seen.

In eastern and central Kentucky, rooves were blown off homes and businesses. The Gatti’s in Knox County was closed after one of its walls were blown in.

The manager told LEX 18 that he got a call at 2:30 a.m. from the alarm company, saying the collapse had triggered the silent alarm. When he arrived on the scene, he was shocked at what he found.

In Danville, lots of property saw damage.

Former UK player Jacob Tamme took LEX 18 on a tour of his property in Danville. It’s about a half a mile radius off Webster Road where most of the damage has been reported. Several barns and outbuildings were destroyed. Jacob Tamme’s farm is one of those places that saw a lot of trees uprooted.

A caller from Berea also called LEX 18 to say that she "used to have a carport." Instead, it had blown up and over the roof of her home and was sitting in her backyard.

LEX 18 Viewers supplied photos of lightning strikes and rising water.
