BOYLE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– The National Weather Service has confirmed three EF-1 tornadoes touched down in the Commonwealth during Tuesday night’s severe weather.

Crews aren’t done yet though, they plan to be back out first thing Thursday morning in Boyle County to survey the damage there.

The Danville-Boyle County Emergency Management director says winds estimated at about 60 to 70 miles per hour tore through the area Tuesday night, bringing heavy rain and even some hail.

The major damage was contained to about a half a mile radius west of Danville, where one home had the roof completely blown off.

We’ll be updating this story with the NWS’s findings.
