TRIGG COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – Kentucky Gun Company is partnering with the mother of a fallen state trooper to raise funds for a memorial scholarship.

Trooper Cameron Ponder was fatally shot after a traffic stop and brief pursuit on I-24 in Lamasco. It was later revealed that he was trying to get a hotel room for the occupants of a vehicle that had broken down when the driver shot him and fled.

His mother has started a scholarship fund in his memory. In response, Kentucky Gun Company created a custom tribute rifle. The gun’s butt is made out of bourbon barrel.

Chances for the gun are free if a person buys a half-hour of time at the company’s gun range.

Kentucky Gun Company is located in Bardstown. You can contact them at 877-348-3594.
