Louisville’s New Ferris Wheel Evacuated Due To Glitch

Posted

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE3) — The new Ferris wheel in Louisville’s Waterfront Park was expected to be back in action Sunday, after a system error forced an evacuation the night before.

WAVE3 reports here that a spokesman for Skyview Partners says a sensor falsely indicated a door was open on the amusement ride about 9 p.m. Saturday.

Safety protocol required that the ride be evacuated.

Passengers were given refunds, and the ride was shut down for the rest of the night.

No one was hurt in the incident.
