BURGIN, Ky. (LEX 18) — Burgin Mayor George Hensley was injured in an assault Wednesday morning, police said.
Hensley was assaulted about 8 a.m. at the Burgin Depot, 105 Main Street, according to the Burgin police chief.
Authorities said Hensley was driven to an area hospital with unspecified injuries.
Police said they have a suspect identified and are looking for that person, but declined to identify the person.Police also are working with the county attorney and waiting information about the mayor’s condition before deciding about potential charges.
