LEXINGTON, Ky (LEX 18) Saturday will be the fourth peace walk at Duncan Park to bring attention to gun violence in the Lexington community.

Activist Anita Franklin started the walks in 2014 when her son, Antonio Franklin Jr., was shot and killed in Duncan Park. This year’s walk has a theme of Avenue of Survivors. Franklin has expanded the focus of the peace walks, inviting other survivors to share their stories about lives lost to gun violence. Survivors are asked to bring banners and/or photos to honor their loved ones on Saturday.

The Peace Walk is a family-friendly event with food and music. it is also an opportunity to learn more about local services available to help youth and families.

The walk will be Saturday, April 14, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Duncan Park.
