BATH COUNTY, Ky (LEX 18) Firefighters said that Friday’s windy weather is partly to blame for an I-64 shutdown in Bath County.

They said a moving truck was on 64 near the Owingsville exit when it crashed into a car. The interstate was shut down as a helicopter landed to fly one person out for help. A fire captain tells LEX 18 that the weather was part of a chain reaction in the crash.

"We think another car maybe swerved over and he swerved over to miss it, and the wind kinda took him over on into the median," said Owingsville Fire Department Captain James May.

He said during the backup from that crash, another semi swerved and collided with three cards. One person in that crash was sent to a local hospital. Neither injury is thought to be life-threatening.
