Man Accused Of Assaulting Burgin Mayor Turns Self In

BURGIN, Ky. (LEX 18) – The man accused of assaulting the mayor of Burgin turned himself in.

Police say James Hurley attacked Mayor George Hensley on Wednesday. Hensley was driven to an area hospital with unspecified injuries.

Hurley was charged with assault fourth and disorderly conduct.   He turned himself in to authorities on Wednesday and has since bailed out.

Mayor Hensley is expected to be okay.
