New Principal Named For Southern Elementary In Georgetown

SCOTT COUNTY, Ky (LEX 18) Anthony Gullett has been named principal of Southern Elementary School. 

Gullett has assistant principal since 2007 in the building where he was a teacher for 20 years. 

“Anthony’s character, work ethic, and passion for education are representative of the professionals we have leading our schools in Scott County,” commented Superintendent Dr. Kevin Hub.  “He has been an outstanding assistant principal at Southern.”

“Anthony Gullett’s love and care for the students, staff, and families of Southern Elementary is undeniable. We are thrilled that he will be serving as the new leader of our school,” teacher April Wilhoite said. 

“I am proud of our school’s dedication to collaboration and student-centered decision making,” Gullett said.  “It will be my honor and privilege to lead the faculty, staff, and students at Southern.  It has been my home for 31 years and, more importantly, my heart.”  

Principal Gullett and wife Shannon call Georgetown home along with their three children, Pallie, Piper Ann, and Parks.

He will become principal on July 1, 2018, when Principal Bryan Blankenship retires.
