FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) – Teachers from across the state are expected to rally in Frankfort Friday to protest the budget cuts being made by the state legislature.

Rallies were held in several counties Thursday.

In Danville, hundreds of educators and supporters of teachers from Boyle County, Mercer County, Danville Independent and the Kentucky School for the Deaf rallied with signs, cheers and plenty of honks from passing cars.

LEX 18  also caught up with educators in Laurel County, which is among the many school districts not calling off class for protests this morning.

There are no organized events at today’s gathering, but teachers will be reaching out to their legislators in hopes they can override Governor Matt Bevin’s veto.
