LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Fire officials are investigating after a fire broke out Sunday morning at a vacant building on Lexington’s near east side.

Crews were called out about 6 a.m. to the 200 block of Powell Street just east of downtown.

Firefighters were able to put out the blaze quickly.

Officials tell LEX 18 that this isn’t the first time a fire has hit the building.

Authorities say no one was hurt in the fire, although the response did cause minor traffic disruption in the immediate area.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
