BATH COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A man is facing several felony charges after being accused of going on a crime spree in Bath County, including assaulting officers.
Owingsville police responded Saturday morning to reports of a stolen truck at the Town and Country Food Mart.
Police traced the vehicle to a home on Pistol Road and identified Taylor Smith as a suspect.
Authorities say Smith ran off into nearby woods. They say he was taken into custody after a chase and allegedly trying to steal two other vehicles.
Police say Smith assaulted officers as they took him into custody, causing minor injuries.
Officials say they believe Smith was under the influence of methamphetamine.
