ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky (LEX 18) – Authorities in Rockcastle County confirmed multiple crashes on I-75 Sunday afternoon.
The Mount Vernon Fire Chief confirmed they were on the scene of two separate crashes. The first was on the southbound side of I-75 near mile marker 69. He reported a pickup truck flipped on its top after skidding on wet roads. Two people were transported to a local hospital in Rockcastle County.
A short time later a second crash happened on the northbound side of I-75 near mile marker 59. The chief confirmed three cars were involved, but no injuries were reported.
The interstate is open on both sides, but traffic was moving slowly. Crews expected to be on the scene cleaning up the wreckage for several hours.
