Louisville Man Held Rash Of Pickpocket Thefts

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Lexington police said a Louisville man has been charged in connection with a rash of thefts and pickpocket crimes at Keeneland Racecourse.

Christopher A. Kittrell, 53, of Louisville is facing multiple counts of theft after a six months of investigative work by Lexington police and Keeneland security.

Authorities say Kittrell picked pockets at several large public places in the area, including Keeneland, Kroger, Meijer, and Walmart. The crimes had been profiled last year in a LEX 18 Crime Stoppers segment.

Kittrell faces three counts of theft by pickpocketing, nine counts of theft from purses, nine counts of felony fraudulent use of a credit card, two counts of misdemeanor fraudulent use of a credit card and 11 counts of theft or receipt of a stolen credit card.

Kittrell is being held in the Fayette County Detention Center.

The investigation into the crimes continues.
