FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — Frankfort police are warning area residents to be wary of people impersonating officials and trying to gain entry to homes.

In a posting on its Facebook page Wednesday afternoon, the Frankfort Police Department said it has received reports that people posing as Frankfort Plant Board workers were knocking on homes and asking to come inside.

Frankfort police warned residents that Plant Board workers will not visit homes without prior notice and will always be in uniform.

They said they also have received reports of people calling posing as Plant Board employees and claiming residents could lose service for various reason.
