ROWAN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Rowan County trucker is speaking out after he says an angry driver shot at him last week on the interstate.

Stephen Cantrell makes the drive to Cincinnati regularly. But last week, he said, it took a scary turn.

Cantrell says he was on Interstate Highway 64 near Olive Hill on Friday when a driver in a red Chevy truck break-checked and cut him off several times.

He said he decided he needed to pass the driver and heard a sound as he did so.

Later, Cantrell says, he discovered gunfire had blown out a window and tire.

"I’m just trying to make a living like everybody else, and some idiot like this decides he’s going to shoot my truck up because he’s P’d off?" Cantrell said.

Cantrell found four bullet holes in his truck.

Kentucky State Police are investigating this incident, and Cantrell says he’s carrying a gun now for the first time in 26 years.
