FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) – A hearing will be held Thursday in Frankfort regarding the lawsuit filed by Attorney General Andy Beshear against the Governor and the passage of SB 151.
Beshear filed the lawsuit against the controversial pension bill last week.
“Today I have fulfilled my promise and filed suit against the pension bill, Senate Bill 151,” Beshear announced last Wednesday via social media.
In his filing challenging the new law, Beshear says the pension law is illegal, claiming it violates several statutes by changing the terms of the pension contract. The suit also seeks a temporary injunction.
The hearing will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in Franklin County Circuit Court.
Richmond Mayor Jim Barnes released the following statement, "The fire department is aware of the KSP investigation and are shocked and disheartened."
