LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – A man is in jail after police say he led them on a chase after nearly striking an officer with his vehicle.
The incident started at 11 p.m. Thursday night during a traffic stop on Davenport Drive. While the officer approached the vehicle, police say the man took off, nearly striking the policeman.
Police pursued the driver for a short distance, but he got away. Shortly afterwards, officers located the suspect’s vehicle on nearby Bordeaux Drive.
Officers traced down the driver and detained him. His name has not yet been released.
