LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Multiple people have been shot in Buechel in an officer-involved shooting, Metrosafe said.
Our sister station WAVE 3 News reports the call came in at 4:18 p.m. of a person shot on Bardstown Road near Bashford Manor.
Police said two subjects were engaged in an altercation. A West Buechel police officer was alerted.
One of the suspects was armed. When a police officer pursued the subject, shots were fired and the suspect was hit.
The suspect and one victim are in critical condition at UofL Hospital.
A witness on scene of shooting at Bardstown Road and Bashford Manor said he heard 10-15 shots go off while he was working outside at nearby retailer collecting carts.
Around 5:30 p.m., the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said the I-264 eastbound ramp to the Bardstown Road exit was closed for an undetermined period of time for a law enforcement investigation.
Metrosafe confirmed that the closure was related to the shooting.
No other information was immediately available.
