SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — An emergency crew rescued a cow Wednesday afternoon after hikers discovered the animal stuck in North Elkhorn Creek.
A couple spotted the struggling cow while hiking and went looking for help, eventually flagging down a Stamping Ground police officer.
Scott County Fire Department officials responded to the scene and used a harness and a backhoe to pull the cow back to dry land.

The cow was alive when pulled from the creek but appeared very weak. The animal’s condition was not immediately disclosed by officials.
