KENTON COUNTY, Ky. (WLWT)– An officer involved shooting has left one person in critical condition.
It happened around 8 p.m. outside the Peecox Bar and Grill on Donaldson Highway in Erlanger,
Erlanger police arrived at the bar to arrest a man wanted on a felony warrant. That’s when the suspect ran out the back door.
Kentucky State Police says it was at that point, local police were put in a situation where they had to open fire.
A witness captured the scene on her cell phone.
"It was just pop pop pop, and I was like, was that fireworks or was that a gun?" said Jacqueline Sexton. "So we ran outside and hopped on live and zoomed in, so you can see where they guy was lying on the ground in my live video."
The suspect was flown to the UC Medical Center.
