POWELL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Students at Stanton Elementary School wrote letters to President Trump for part of a writing exercise in one of their classes. The students were all very excited to receive letters from the White House at their school.

The school posted a photo of the student to their Facebook page.

"Stanton Elementary students wrote letters to President Trump and yesterday they received responses from the President! Way to prove you can be involved no matter what your age," reads the post.

A spokesperson for the school said the students pictured were just a few of the many who received letters. They were part of Jamie Ewen’s class and the children were allowed to pick their topic. Students wrote to the president on every topic from North Korea, animal rights, and school lunches.

In addition to personal letters, the students received information packets on the government.
