FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — A burglary suspect and two women were arrested Friday in Frankfort after a tense standoff.

This happened as authorities negotiated with a man they accuse of being involved in a string of robberies.

Police eventually led Larry Engler and the women out in handcuffs from the home on Holmes Street.

Investigators say Engler and Zach Harrod stole electronics and more than a dozen guns from at least four homes.

One of the burglary victims was Chris Quire, a Frankfort police captain who is running for sheriff against Pat Melton.

"This just proves no one in the world is exempt from evil," Quire said, "we’re all a target."

Melton’s office used Quire’s home security footage to identify Harrod, then tracked him down through a stolen iPad, they said.

Engler and Harrod both face burglary charges.
