NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — An elderly woman was seriously injured Saturday morning in Nicholasville when she apparently was run over by her own vehicle.
Police responded about 11:30 a.m. to the 100 block of Kevin Drive to reports that a pedestrian had be hit by a vehicle.
Police say it appeared that the woman, who is in her 70s, had been backing out of her driveway when, for some reason, she exited the vehicle without putting it into park. First responders found the victim pinned under the vehicle. She was extricated from the wreck and transported to an area hospital.
Authorities said the woman’s injures were life-threatening, but her condition was not immediately disclosed.
Police were working to determine the exact cause of the crash.
