One Man Arrested, One At Large In Connection To Jackson County Double Murder

MCKEE, Ky. (LEX 18) – Kentucky State Police have arrested one man in connection to a Jackson County double murder, now they’re searching for another man who they believe was involved.

KSP reports as a result of an ongoing investigation, Bobby L. Hammonds, 40, of McKee, was arrested yesterday afternoon and was taken to the Jackson County Detention Center charged with two counts of Murder.

Now investigators are trying to locate Terry L. Hammonds, 41, of McKee, who is wanted for two counts of Conspiracy to Commit Murder. 

The pair is wanted in connection to the killings of Joey R. Marcum, 35, and Whitney R. Venable, 28, both of McKee.

Reportedly troopers were called to a vehicle fire on Rock Lick Road back in December of 2017.

KSP says when first responders arrived, they found Marcum and Venable dead.

The investigation into their deaths is ongoing.
