GARRARD COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – A Garrard County man’s peaceful sleep was interrupted when he awakened to find what appeared to be the grim reaper standing at the foot of his bed.

Police were called to the home on Jones Road for a report of an intruder. When the homeowner talked to police, he told the officer he was awakened by a loud noise. There he saw a man dressed in dark clothing standing near his bed. In the man’s arms, he carried a grave marker with the name "Anne" written on it.

The homeowner grabbed a utility knife to defend himself and his family, which included two small children. The suspect, identified as David Hall, ran but was apprehended shortly after.

The homeowner told police he had never met the man before.

Hall was arrested and lodged in the Lincoln County Jail. He appears to have since been released.
