LEE COUNTY, Ky (LEX 18) A Lee County business owner is struggling to get back on her feet after a fire left her downtown flower shop damaged.

The building caught fire Sunday morning, destroying four apartments and impacting several businesses.

Blanche Arnold has made a living selling flowers and decor the last 17 years, seven of those years inside the building. Most of the flowers and items in Blooming Sensations are damaged. Firefighters stopped the flames from spreading to her shop, but smoke and water still left a major mess.

Arnold said this could not have come at a worse time, May is her busiest month of the year.

She said she now has to wait to see if the building will need to be knocked down or if she’ll have to move.  An insurance adjuster will be out Tuesday to determine if the building can be saved.
