LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – In another blow to the Kentucky Teachers Retirement System, one of their properties is going under.

Lucky’s Market will close after two years of business. The grocery store’s building, located on Virginia Avenue and South Broadway, had previously been home to a Winn-Dixie and an E.W. James & Son.

Fayette County PVA confirmed that the property was owned by the teachers’ organization.

The store’s hours will decrease beginning May 6 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Lucky’s specialized in fresh and natural foods, much like Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods.

Employees of the store have been notified. The store is expected to close in late May.
