MCKEE, Ky. (LEX 18) — A man charged in a Jackson double homicide pleaded not guilty to charges in court.

Police arrested 40-year-old Bobby L. Hammonds of McKee on Friday afternoon and charged him with two counts of murder. Meanwhile, police say 41-year-old Terry L. Hammonds, also of McKee, is wanted on two counts of conspiracy to commit murder.

The men’s family relationship, if any, was not immediately disclosed.

Police say both men are suspects in the deaths of Joey R. Marcum, 35, and Whitney R. Venable, 28, both of McKee. Marcum and Venable were found dead in a burning vehicle on Rock Lick Road back in December 2017.

Bobby Hammonds was assigned a public defender. He will be held on a $500,000 cash bond.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Terry Hammonds is asked to contact KSP Post 7 at 859-623-2404.

Bobby will be back in court on May 7 at 9:30 a.m.
