GEORGETOWN, Ky. (LEX 18) – An altercation on a school bus led to several first responders being called to Lemons Mill Elementary School early Tuesday.

According to police, dispatch received a call with a child screaming in the back. Multiple officers responded to school, but downgraded the response once they realized the situation was not as severe as originally thought.

Georgetown Police say that an altercation that started on the bus spilled into the school but was quickly contained.

The school released a statement on Facebook.

"Good morning, Lemons Mill families. We wanted to make you aware of a situation involving a student on one of our buses that happened during morning drop off today (5/1/18).
