Yesterday, a stretch of road in the Hisle community was blocked off and swarming with police officers looking for Terry Hammonds. It was a different story Tuesday. The area was calm and quiet.

Hammonds is wanted in a double murder in Jackson County. He is one of two suspects in the murder of Joey R. Marcum, 35, and Whitney R. Venable, 28, both of McKee.

Hammonds’ brother Bobby is already in custody.

State Police are patrolling the area still looking for Terry, but not in the high numbers they were Monday. They’ve warned people to lock their doors and be on the lookout for him.

Police say Hammonds did shoot at them before running into the woods on Happy Top Road.

However, most people in the area say they aren’t fearful at all. They have known him all his life.

"Heck no. He wouldn’t hurt nobody," neighbor Ron Skinner told LEX 18.

The 41-year-old is considered armed dangerous and desperate. If you have information on his whereabouts, contact police.
