LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– A man was arrested Tuesday after being accused in the burglary of a Lexington church.

The reported incident occurred around 4 p.m. July 3, 2017 at the New Hope Church located on Faith Street.

According to the arrest citation, 21-year-old Brandon Herring is accused of stealing $1,200 from a lockbox and a Kindle Fire.

The pastor of the church called police to report three separate burglaries, one occurring on Feb. 14, 2016; May 8, 2016; and July 3, 2017.

He said he had video evidence of a suspect breaking into the church in July and stealing a large amount of money.

The pastor also disclosed that he had logged into his Google account that was attached to his stolen Kindle Fire and found several pictures Herring had uploaded to the device, which was stolen in February.

Based on this evidence the pastor was able to tie Herring to the July burglary as well.

Herring was arrested in Marion County, Indiana and transferred to the Fayette County Detention Center.

He is facing one count of third-degree burglary for the July 2017 burglary and is scheduled to be in court Wednesday.
