AMELIA, Ohio (LEX 18) – An Ohio animal shelter has taken in multiple animals taken from the Trixie Foundation. Now they are asking for the public’s help.
LEX 18 had received numerous tips about the Trixie Foundation in Elliott County in the weeks leading up to the arrest of owner Randy Skaggs. Skaggs was arrested and charged with 179 counts of Cruelty to Animals.
All Dogs Come From Heaven Rescue says many of the animals are in extremely poor health. Their vets say that some of the animals have infections, parasites and deformed body parts.
"The dogs that the hoarder/abuser is saying were loved and cared for – are in horrific condition … seeing this in person is even more disturbing," reads a post on the group’s page.
The organization has 18 of the animals and are asking for donations to help with medical costs. For more info, click here.
